Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 441
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Hellooo!
And, I don’t even know where to start with this past week. EVERYTHING is different, and it’s all so unexpected and good!
Remember that free journaling course I was taking? I’m taking it again to join some of my blogging buddies doing it for the first time.
Because it was that effective. I haven’t felt this fuelled and inspired in forever!
I wrote a very big post on how this course fell into my lap at just the right moment, and how it’s moved me beyond anything I ever imagined thus far.
Struggling on what’s next?
Other big shifts are taking place. I completely changed my schedule and I am nearly sorda a morning person now. First time in my life. I just can’t sleep in with all this good stuff happening ahead!
Kim Klassen, where have you been all my life?
So before I go off on a 2k word tangent, lets focus back on you.
See how better focused I am now? LOL
I want to spill on something. Features are so tricky to choose because I want to highlight ALL of your projects. However, I guess that’s what the original parties are for! That’s the reason that I like to link up last week’s party in the link up widget each week.
I so hope you visit last week’s party while you wait for this one to fill. A finished party is always bursting at the seams already. Then you can come here next week when this is full! 🙂
I am wise beyond my 50ish years, folks…
So anyway, here are some pretty inspiring projects from the last party… which I think you will whole heartedly agree…
Up-cycled drawers into vintage crates by Sadie Seasongoods
Oh hello one old crate fanatic to another! This GENIUS idea WILL have you saving old drawers and collecting a few cool stencil sayings. I’m officially on it. Crazy how cool and easy these are!
Key wall art by The Boondocks Blog
Anyone else a skeleton key collector but have them in a jar somewhere because you (ahem) don’t know what to do with them?
I ADORE the idea of hanging with twine on an art canvas. It’s simple and calming and awfully cute too!
Concrete fall pumpkin technique with simple ingredients by Homeward Found
I should know by now. Deb always has this one little twist to her projects that you do NOT expect. This concrete texture ingredient wins the race this round! Seriously… oh my gosh.
Divided seed and flower crate tray for fall decorating by Lora B
This flower vignette is SO amazing, in the fact that it can showcase a multitude of favorite fall things in one spot.
Gorgeous. Time to pull out a shallow sectioned crate…
Aqua and white buffalo plaid tote on quilt by A Vintage Green
Doesn’t this sweet little kitchen-themed tote look so vintage in buffalo check with these aqua tones? DARLING. I loves seeing unique variations of buffalo check!
Branch ladder garden trellis by Gingham Gardens
I already knew I adored creating with branches, however that’s just been reconfirmed with this sweet twisty ladder. Oh my goodness. I want one inside my home! How would you use it?
Denim world map floor cushions by Pillar Box Blue
World maps are a big design trend right now, and denim a classic. So the combination of the two? Oh goodness… get on my sofa right now! How adorable.
Flea Market painted vintage suitcase chalkboard style by Organized Clutter
Carlene probably doesn’t know it yet, however her sign stencil designs on her thrift store finds could rival a professional sign maker. THIS ONE KICKS IT HARD! Isn’t this the perfect sign if you’re selling at an actual flea market or booth?!
What have you made this past week? Link up below!
~ Blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Upcycled, DIY home decor projects only please. Items for sale must be in tutorial form on your blog. NO FOOD NOR NEW CRAFTS please.
2. Linkups must be your own work, not another’s.
3. Only projects new to this link party please, to keep things fresh. Repeats may be deleted.
4. By linking up here, you’re cool with me featuring you on my blog, Pinterest, Twitter, FJI Facebook with a link back to you, or its own new LINK WIDGET with no additional permission required.
5. No need to link back to the party! Would love it if you pinned the first gallery picture instead. Thank-you!
Donna thanks so much for the feature. I am also really glad that you have become so focused. I, on the other hand, am going in the other direction. I am looking forward to the day when the kids are all taken care of, whatever that may mean and I can indulge in my dreams. I hope you have a great weekend and keep the inspiration coming!
Hey Mary! Totally understand, there are different seasons moms need to adjust to, and I’m just glad something worked in this transitioning time for me. Productivity is very contagious… now to keep it up! 🙂 I hope you are able to find your rhythm, but if you can’t right away, I totally get that too.
I suggest to try the free writing challenge to help fuel directions… it did a big number on me!
Wow and thank you Donna for including my Buffalo Check tote in your features this week.
Thank you for your 441st DIY Salvaged Junk Projects, always appreciated.
Joy
My pleasure Joy! I love the colour combo you used! So pretty and really has a great vintage vibe to it!
Thank you for hosting the party. It’s great that you are feeling so inspired and excited. I don’t know how you managed to become a morning person. I stay up way too late. That seems to be when my creative juices flow the most. I don’t need a lot of sleep so I still get up early but I’m lazy in the morning.
Hey Virginia!
Do you drink coffee? 😀 THAT is what gets me going and keeps me strung up for awhile… I like to do my online work at that time. I save the afternoons for my tutorial shoots (best lighting) then take evenings off.
I do find if I hit the hay earlier, it’s just naturally easier to get up earlier. I can’t really sleep beyond a certain # of hours it appears!
Thank you so much for featuring my drawer crates!!!
thank you SO much for including my faux concrete pumpkin-painting post in your feature, Miss Donna! as for that unexpected element, i’ll do anything to get the effect i am after when i am working on a project – including raiding the kitchen cabinets for materials! (if i ever decide to finally spill the tea on my ‘faux rust’ paint technique, you will not believe the secret ingredient in THAT one! LOL) it’s all about playing with things and thinking out of the box, right?!
