Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 445
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Happy Friday!
Well, this girl right here ran down so many rabbit trails, most days feel pretty chopped up. But that’s all part of a much bigger plan.
I’ve started with Kim Klassen’s big kahuna Writing Class and boy are her techniques motivating. So much so, I’m dashing down these paths that have been left dusty for far too long. I’ll get more into that in a post soon to update you on how life is slowly changing a minute at a time. For those intrigued, I believe there will be another run of classes in November so I’ll update you should that transpire.
Pottery class is also progressing along. I made handles for mugs this week! Already visioning enjoying coffee in each and every one! It’s getting real over there. Will share a new post on that soon as well.
Ya know, I use to spend SO much time online, but I now see that wasn’t always the most productive in the long run. You can only be in one place at a time and right now this livin’ life thing is the thing that is changing things, so yeah… still attempting to find a way to do it all just like everyone else.
I did finally finish a post I started awhile back on Valuable Cat Tips you may not know about HERE though!
The last time I ran my kitties to the vet, I held one cat in one arm and her carrier in the other. Frustrated, I asked Dr. Ray how to entice her inside next round! He proceeded to show me his 30 second trick which blew my mind. Then I pelted him with every question I had under the cat lover’s sun and ended up with a pretty substantial but informative post!
Whether you’re a cat owner, or know one that is, I know there will be at least one tip in here that you probably didn’t know about.
So now that we all know what cats REALLY want, here’s a few amazing highlights from last week’s party…
Tape drawers turned card catalog by Sadie Seasongoods
I would never in a million years believed that tacky tape drawers could look so industrially cool! I’m just glad there are extreme creatives like Sarah that can prove me wrong.
Pumpkin Spice platter by Organized Clutter
Ever bypass those huge platter-like plates at thrift stores? Maybe don’t any longer because this sweet fall dish design ranks right up there with no chippy wood in sight! Decadent idea! Stencil details are inside this post.
Also in the same post with a super clever play on fall words using graphics!
And an honourable mention… I am adoring these fall pillows and easy bench lettering which just finished it off. Check both ideas out HERE
Rustic Pumpkin Patch crate by Homeroad
I love how this little crate got chosen for this fall design with a little layering going on to make it work! Some great distressing advice is in this post, along with the stencil details.
Denim feathers and branch wall decor by Pillar Box Blue
This project is not only super cool, it’s a must to check out how these denim feathers were made. So creative!
Vintage rusty junk garden angel by Adirondack Girl At Heart
THIS! This right here is why everyone in the land ought to never bypass a bucket of rusty junk. Oh the treasures you can make!
DIY wheat in a crate centrepiece by Uncommon Designs
This centrepiece is not only absolutely perfect for fall, I loved the advice on how to stand the wheat up. Very clever fix!

Thanks so much for the feature, Donna–glad you enjoyed my junk angel 🙂
Oh my goodness… that is an understatement. I think I know my new Christmas theme for this year! Thanks for bringing that beauty over, Diana!
You’re so welcome, Donna–thanks for throwing such a great party 🙂
I:m glad to see you managed to get your cat to pose for the camera, very cute. thank you for featuring my denim feathers.
Haha! Well, it wasn’t easy. I had to take the camera off the timer so I could snap quicker! 1 good pic out of a hundred or so? Not the best odds but he’s worth the effort! 😀
Thanks for your AMAZING project… your creative mind blows my mind.
Love the features, especially Diana’s junk angel! Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend, Donna 🙂
Aren’t those projects amazing?! This party was SUCH a great run! Thanks for coming by Marie!
Thanks Donna for the features on my fall stencil projects! Still thinking of ways to use them!
Oh Carlene, you certainly pick up my slack in the most beautiful of ways! Thank-you for your continued creativity! I love seeing what you come up with! It’s like Christmas morning every time you do!
