Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 451
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Hi all!
I just got in after a very exciting yet kind of difficult day.
Long time readers will remember my story of me driving past my childhood farm (read full series HERE) to find one barn had been taken down. Gasping, I made my way to the owner and asked if I could have a little bit of the wood as a keepsake. He obliged!
But just today, I got another call with my brother telling me our main barn was now down and we had only 2 days to go get a few extra mementos before it was all gone completely. GASP! As you can imagine, I dropped everything and ran.
I will blog about it, but for now, I have it saved to my Insta Stories highlight under The Barn HERE
It was tough… but at the same time, I was so very grateful we were able to obtain a little bit of something so important to us.
I also recently returned from a work trip in Toronto that morphed into a pretty epic 2-week stay!
But first things first, Toronto Part 1 HERE shares where I first ended up by fluke, in one of the most charming districts imaginable. Vintage, nature, water, junkin’ with friends and more…
As luck would have it, before my trip, I had quickly made a few accessories to bring along that I didn’t have time to blog about….
Stained and stenciled patterned banner that resembles leather by Funky Junk Interiors
This was a cute cardboard banner I had on hand that accidentally morphed into leather! Very cool effect! This post also includes some pretty neat wooden dollar store revamps… who knew the dollar store could look so rustically cool?! 🙂
And then there is you… here are some pretty fab highlights from last weekend…
(working on commentary below now… this post was a little tight for time going up due to our day!)
Buffalo Checked cheese box side table with pin legs by Organized Clutter
This cheese box side table has it all imo… it is rustic, trendy, modern, and vintage. Goodness I love this thing! I need one, that is all.
DIY pallet wood vintage sleigh by Scavenger Chic
Love vintage sleighs but don’t wish to pay the high price for one? Here’s how you can make one with pallet wood! It was designed around a vintage design. So very cool!
Crate turned Christmas catalog drawer by Homeroad
While a rustic crate can never go wrong no matter what it looks like or how it’s used, turning it into a card file drawer with the smallest of details is super cool! Love the Christmas twist too!
Charming fall wooden mushroom collection by Karin Urban – Natural Style
I’m not certain what all these wonderful mushrooms are made from, however this collection is over the top delightful! Karin uses this display each fall. So so charming isn’t it?!
Galvanized garden etagere with dried flowers and plants by Karin Urban – Natural Style
And I had to search up what an etagere was. It is noted as a piece of furniture with a number of open shelves for displaying.
All I know is, this etagere made from all kinds of mis-matched galvanized pieces was super cool and the outcome so incredibly lovely! ADORE the height! Very unique vignette for the beautiful outdoors.
Printed pumpkin seed packet picture by Fresh Vintage by Lisa S
I love fall displays, however this pumpkin seed packet picture has such a cool vintage vibe! This post offers the printable so you can make one too!
Painted Hudson’s Bay blanket desk by Birdz of a Feather
This iconic look on a desk is so unexpected, yet so vibrantly cool! I love that it brings a modern edge to an old piece.

Thanks for hosting Donna! I haven’t joined the party lately because I haven’t done any repurpose or upcycle projects in a while, so it’s nice to be back! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Yay, welcome back Michelle! I LOOOOOVE your reclaimed wood window treatment project! (#2)… thanks so much for bringing it over!
Looking forward to all things Christmas soon, but finishing up Thanksgiving for us Americans;) People can get a little fussy if we skip over it;) Thanks for hosting! Have a great weekend, Donna!
I hear ya Lora. I haven’t decorated for Christmas yet but it isn’t because of anything other than I haven’t taken the time to do it yet! haha
Thanks for stopping by!
I love your new banner project, and I’m glad you had a fun working getaway! Thanks for featuring my cheese box table. It’s one of my favorite projects!
Thanks Carlene, I had no idea how much I could love cardboard. LOL
And yeah, that cheesebox sidetable is EPIC! I’m on the lookout for one now! Thanks for bringing that beauty over!
Joan’s sleigh is amazing, you’d never know it wasn’t an antique! Have a great weekend, Donna 🙂
Agree! Love that it was designed around a vintage sleigh. So well done!
Thanks for your visit Marie!
Oh my Goodness! That Turkey!!!! I just love that awesome junky bird! And thanks for sharing my crate <3
I know… isn’t that creatively insane?! Thanks for bringing your cutie pie crate over, Susan! I love seeing what you come up with!
Hi Donna,
Another great party. Thank you for sharing.
I love your new banner. I made one on the same cardboard pennants for my niece’s wedding.
