Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 473
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Hi everyone!
Today the sun broke out and it made me feel all kinds of happy.
Don’t you love feeling happy for no apparent reason? Thank-you sunshine!
How to figure out a selfish desire vs. a true calling
I even got out on this epic bike ride this past week where the evening sun hit all the right places.
There’s some spectacular scenery in this post, along with a heartfelt story on what scares me the most. If you’re so far just a dreamer and not so much a do-er, you may find this very transparent post helpful.
How to grain sack stripe an Ikea slipcovered chair by Funky Junk Interiors
I also worked on a project in the guest bedroom! Thanks to Ikea, a slipcovered chair got grain sack striped and the desk all decked out with rustic office gear. I am loving the outcome!
And upon going over your projects from last weekend’s party, I can see you’ve been keeping busy too! Here are some pretty highlights…
Stacked vintage crates and clay pots by Deb Kennedy
This beautiful rustic display feels so spring and summer, doesn’t it?! I think I know just the plant stand to create now… soon!
Wood lath table runner by Lora B
I’ve always loved wood lath but this project gives me a reason to collect it! A wonderfully rustic look that would also provide protection for a table top too!
Door frame memo board by Homeroad
This project that utilizes a door frame vs. the entire door will most definitely have you looking at cabinet doors differently now!
Love this execution from top to the little crate bottom!
Stenciled Houndstooth vintage table by Organized Clutter
I grew up with one of these vintage tables, but never did I ever imagine it could look this upscale cool! Love the decadent Houndstooth treatment in classic black and white!
Full stencil details are inside this post.
Sugar jar and utensil wind chime by The Interior Frugalista
Spare sugar bowl anyone? This cheerful project positively spews spring and summer! Bet it sounds as good as it looks too!
Decoupaged bottles by The Boondocks Blog
Plastic standard bottles have never looked prettier! Love the pattern on these that provide such a fun pop of colour!

Donna those plastic bottles really gave me such a headache. I’m glad you like them. Sometimes you have to go through mud to get to a good place. Thanks for hosting each week and have a great weekend!
Haha Mary! Well they sure look fabulous now! Thanks for bringing them over to the party!
Thank you for hosting the party. Have a great weekend. I hope it’s full of more sunshine.
My pleasure Virginia! And so far, LOTS of rain! But that’s ok… it’s a good excuse to get indoor projects done… so I tell myself. LOL
Donna, your true calling post resonated deeply and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I even wrote notes! LOL Thank you so much for featuring my sugar bowl windchimes. Yes, they do sound lovely on a windy day. Have a great weekend!
Wow Marie, I can’t tell you how happy that makes me! So glad something resonated with you.
I’ve noticed I’ve avoided writing down some tough stuff the past few days… must get back to it again. So hard…
Thanks for featuring my Repurposed Wood Lath Runner, Donna! Think there’s quite a few more to be made to get ready for the last kid grad party;)Hopping on over to read your “deep” post…Have a great weekend! Loved seeing your green grass; we just got 8″ of snow=0 Kinda depressing.
Thanks for bringing that project over Lora! My kinda table decor!
The green grass is so nice… even if it’s mowing season again…. there’s always something! 😀
Hi Donna,
A little craft project that looks like it is rustic and repurposed does that count too?
Love your sewing nook! I have the same desk but with white legs, wish I had gone for the rustic look too now that I have seen it on here.
Marianne, I always look forward to your projects, can’t wait to peek! Thanks for the heads up!
And your whites make me want to go all white so there’s that… haha
Found your tutorial… and oh my goodness… those beads are SO ME! What a cool idea! Love the twine in between too!
Thanks for going to the trouble every week to host this great party for us junkers! And Thanks for featuring my houndstooth table too!
thank you SO much for including my stacked crate porch decor in your feature, Miss Donna! i had a lot of fun with that project – it’s always good when a plan comes together and things actually work! LOL
you always have the most inspiring ideas submitted to your party – as i was scrolling down to comment, i saw the wood cacti project :O OMG that is SO cute! i think a couple of those made to look like aloe & succulents would look darling on my crates!
