Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 479
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Happy weekend, friends!
This past week we’ve had real summer weather, so I spent lots of time on the bike trail and in the garden moreso.
(I am not very good at staying indoors when the sun shines I’m afraid…)
But I did manage to spend some evenings launching a new pattern stencil which I’ll be creating with very soon! This one’s gonna be fun!
Anyway, all that outdoor time had me thinking ‘curb-appeal’… so I did a quick little outdoor project that was super fast and turned out adorable…
Buffalo Check stenciled front door mat by Funky Junk Interiors
This was my first attempt at stenciling an Ikea doormat, and I am in LOVE! I’ve wanted a cute doormat forever and now I can say I have one. I’m unsure of the durability at this time, however I plan to do touchups as needed.
Isn’t it cute?!
I’m thrilled, and it’s encouraging me to find other things to play with outdoors too!
You’ve also come along with so many inspiring summer-ish ideas! Here’s a few fab highlights from last week’s party…
Terra cotta pot bottom drink coasters by Interior Frugalista
Yes, yes oh yes! What a fabulous and perfect way to save the furniture from drink rings with beverage coasters while using something so unusual! Aren’t they gorgeous?
Butcher block Flowers towel bar by Homeroad
This unique towel bar just goes to prove that anything can become one! This post shows a different handle idea plus full stencil details.
I can even see S hooks hanging garden tools or drying flowers on this Flower themed cutie…

Please do yourself an incredible favor and visit this inspiring home tour. It’s so crisp and clean and outstandingly gorgeous!
Those hats as wall art are the cutest! Plus… so much more.
Stenciled wicker Flower basket by Homeroad
Susan had me at wicker, however I love the idea of theming one to chime in with summer! And flowers is always perfect. I must dig through my own stash and try…
American stenciled pillow with button flag with vintage game wall art by Fresh Vintage by Lisa S
This adorable pillow has a little secret you don’t spot at first… it’s all about the stars on that cute American flag! Love a little 3D action on an otherwise flat surfaced project!
Plus… vintage Chinese Checkers game wall art… oh my goodness…
Blooming faux rose lattice by The Boondocks Blog
I do believe Mary has solved my brown-thumb gardening attempts. This gorgeous rose trellis in full bloom will positively fool you! Learn her secrets…
Rustic garden table planter by Organized Clutter
Whether this was originally a planter or a table, it’s absolutely perfect for a garden planter right now! What an unusual piece! The best part of collecting I say. Full stencil details are included in this post.
