Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 479
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Happy weekend, friends!
This past week we’ve had real summer weather, so I spent lots of time on the bike trail and in the garden moreso.
(I am not very good at staying indoors when the sun shines I’m afraid…)
But I did manage to spend some evenings launching a new pattern stencil which I’ll be creating with very soon! This one’s gonna be fun!
Anyway, all that outdoor time had me thinking ‘curb-appeal’… so I did a quick little outdoor project that was super fast and turned out adorable…
Buffalo Check stenciled front door mat by Funky Junk Interiors
This was my first attempt at stenciling an Ikea doormat, and I am in LOVE! I’ve wanted a cute doormat forever and now I can say I have one. I’m unsure of the durability at this time, however I plan to do touchups as needed.
Isn’t it cute?!
I’m thrilled, and it’s encouraging me to find other things to play with outdoors too!
You’ve also come along with so many inspiring summer-ish ideas! Here’s a few fab highlights from last week’s party…

This adorable pillow has a little secret you don’t spot at first… it’s all about the stars on that cute American flag! Love a little 3D action on an otherwise flat surfaced project!
Plus… vintage Chinese Checkers game wall art… oh my goodness…
