Enjoying the after Christmas lull….

Hello! Please come in, but you’ll have to excuse the happy mess. We’re still in our pj’s too!

Kaboom!

We’re taking in some fireplace/game playing/movie action while eating a little too much. Last night was The Waterhorse in front of a roaring fire. Perfection.

We’re visiting family, friends and meeting newbies to the fray.

(photo by Zoe Brown Photography…. more on this photo whiz soon!)

We took in the amazing Yarrow Alliance Christmas eve program in which I did a photoshoot.

My brother commented, “Do you hear this kind of music every Sunday?!?”

Why, yes we do. This service is famous for a reason.

We’re eating way too many freshly flown in Hawaiian Macadamia nuts from my sis’ recent trip.

We’re enjoying homemade banana pancakes with Canadian made Rogers syrup…

… and these very addictive Tassimo made lattes in which I have no self control over.

The Tassimo is from ‘Santa’. 🙂

(love love love love LOVE)

We’re also busy keeping those no longer with us close to our hearts.

And appreciating the simplistic Christmas beauty still up.

And we’ve only just begun. 🙂

May your upcoming week be lazy, food and family filled as well. 🙂

What are you up to?

What did Santa bring you?

  1. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Tassimo was an awesome gift. I was recuperating from our food blitz yesterday, till I managed to eat a little more than I should have today as well. Gonna stop now. Have a great lazy week Donna.

  2. So glad you had a wonderful Christmas! You really deserve it. Can’t wait to see what you will be up to in the new year (we are all still in our pjs too- perfection is right!).

  3. Awesome – time is the best gift of all. To be able to enjoy the family time w/o rushing around is Heavenly. We watched “The Grinch that Stole Christmas” again, had donuts for breakfast in PJ’s too! Which-of course- Santa left us warm and cozy and matching Pajammies! Enjoy your week

  4. I was in my pjs longer than an entire day I hate to admit…I finally took them off and showered half way through today!! It was soooo great lounging and not doing a bloody thing. Merry Christmas Donna!

  5. I lounged around about half the day, then couldn’t stand it any more and got back to work! I’m not good at doing nothing!

Looks like you had a very special Christmas!

    Blessings,

  6. Sounds like perfection to me Donna! I got so emotional at church on Christmas eve ~ it is my favorite service of the year. Last night we curled up and watched The Kings Speech and this morning enjoyed coffee from our brand new Keurig ~ love love love!!

  7. I am too Donna– I’m enjoying it a bit too much…and we’ve got our annual ‘BIG FAMILY’ GET TOGETHER ON NEW YEARS DAY…. what was I thinking?
I need to get busy around here.
    enjoy the down time and R & R …
    blessings~

  8. I love that you’re having such a wonderful post-Christmas lull, with lots of love and family memories.

(But, said in a whisper) I don’t think you know what ‘infamous’ means:
    in·fa·mous   /ˈɪnfəməs/ Show Spelled[in-fuh-muhs] adjective
    1. having an extremely bad reputation: an infamous city.
    2. deserving of or causing an evil reputation; shamefully malign; detestable: an infamous deed.
    3. Law .
    a. deprived of certain rights as a citizen, as a consequence of conviction of certain offenses.
    b. of or pertaining to offenses involving such deprivation.

I think you mean ‘famous’. You maybe want to do a tiny edit for your church’s sake. I’m an old grammar teacher, so I can’t help myself. Forgive me – I love your funky junk in so many ways!

  9. I loved everything about this post…such beautiful reflection!
I do want to know how you watched the Warhorse from home though…please!!!
Your home is beautiful and your church looks so pretty!
    Have a wonderful week!!

  10. I love that you are still enjoying Christmas, and not in a hurry for it to be over, like some people are!(scroogey grinches!) I wish it would last all year!
This is the best part, visiting, relaxing, spending time together, enjoying all the decor and food we worked so hard to prepare, reflecting and remembering Christmases past!
May you and your family be blessed!

  11. So glad to know that others are staying in their jammies all day and eating leftover appetizers for meals ! Christmas will last two more weeks for me since we have nieces and nephew coming Thursday to open gifts, then a week later some other friends who have/had to work Christmas AND New Year’s ! I usually get exactly what I want for Christmas since my hubby isn’t a good shopper and I have to be really specific for him. I pre-shop for my gifts. Gotta tell him what store, what aisle, shape, color, SKU number. Truly. Even draw pictures. But since I’m always thrifting, I really don’t need much. But I always try to find something he can get for me. Mostly garden goodies, new slippers, Alison Krauss CD. Happy New Year !!

  12. Glad you’re getting a well-deserved rest. I could keep going on and on about how you inspire me, but I won’t (ha!). I’ll save it til I meet you irl one day 😀

Santa was incredibly generous this year and I received diamond earrings – one is from my real father’s mother’s ring, and the other from his stepmothers. He’s been gone since I was 10 and I don’t have memory of him . . . in my mind, but in my heart? Forever.

  13. Okay so now you have me jonesin’ for Pancakes and a Tassimo Latte! *Winks* I’ll be right over…

May 2012 have abundant Blessings, rich Memories and unlimited Possibilities…

Happy New Year from the Arizona Desert… Dawn… The Bohemian

  14. Sounds like a perfect Christmas. We’ve had a busy time but am enjoying it all – taking in all the visitors, too much food, not enough sleep. But there’s a fresh snowfall, a quiet house this morning and a sleepy husband upstairs so all is right with the world.
Happy New Year filled with lots of neat junk.

  15. Your kaboom looks a bit like my kaboom! It looks like you are really enjoying the season. We had a fun Christmas and I am looking forward to a great New Year. I hope you have a wonderful New Year , Donna. Peace and blessings to you and yours.

  16. Glad to see that you are filling up your energy tanks and doing a lot of nothing and nothing of anything. Basically the same here. Playing cards while listening to the Top2000 show, sleeping, lounging in pj’s and eating chocolate.
CU in the new year my friend.

  17. Oooh, I see that toblerone 🙂 Yum!

Hubby got me a stocking full of vintage-inspired candy…which I’m trying to avoid. Looks tasty.

We were visiting Michigan and got a little snow to play with the dogs in. And, we made some peppermint bark and there might ahve been a martini.

Back home, we’ve got a surprise planned for Grandpa tonight – Sshh, don’t tell him!

  18. This morning I read an article in our local newspaper regarding Folk magazine &shop and through their blog found you. I am very intrigued by your design sensibility and we share many common interests. The photos of your work are beautiful as is your home and to me pictured a sublime artistic adventure. Then, after reading numerous posts regarding Christmas, projects and blogging I came across your life story. I doubt that “pride” is part of your vocabulary but allow me to say how proud I am of you and all you have accomplished in a very short time. You are an inspiration in many ways. Wishing you and your son a bountiful & blissful 2012.
