Junk, catcapades and packing

I have lots of little things to share today so I’ll lump them up all into one!

Bait buckets, rusty hammers, old red wheels and other cool junk finds

Junk

I visited a local new and used store just down the road last weekend and brought this Heavenly junk home. Aren’t those bait containers the coolest?! I really REALLY think they have to become some kind of light. And I do have a plan for all those crazy hammers. Can’t wait to try out my idea.

Here’s a super fun idea for a garden themed wind chime, spotted in a new and used store. The pots were held in place with simple knots in the rope. Love it!

Pretty corn

I took a walk the other day near sunset and couldn’t believe the rainbow of colours shooting across this cornfield. Stunning!

CatCapades

Too big for the cat tree? No worries, these two figure things out on their own. I found them like this cat watching across the road. And nothing will stop a good cat watch it seems. Lake is sitting on TOP of Skye crosswise with no worries in the world.

Don’t go lettin’ this sweetness fool you. He has more plans… check out the thoughts lurking behind those eyes… or maybe he’s tired. Who’s to know for sure!

But then the Hydrangea Heist went viral. Sigh. It was inevitable I suppose. I actually scooped Syke up from inside one basket buried UNDER the hydrangeas. LOL

Here’s what the hydrangea fall mantel USE to look like.

And what I’m pretty sure cats are thinking when they get away with said catcapades… dang that cuteness anyway! We humans are so unsuspecting.

Packing... again via https://www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/

Packing

Right. Here’s another shot before the big heist. But the clothes are what I’m telling you about in this one. We are PACKING. I’m taking my son to camp which is a 1.5 hour drive, and because I couldn’t find a shared ride, I decided to book a bed and breakfast and take in the town on my own for a couple nights!

So with house sitter signed up once again to watch over the Hydrangea Heist Team, we’re off on another little adventure! Watch Funky Junk Facebook for some updates and Instagram for even more as I won’t be blogging about it until next week. Junkin’, good food, a little lake time, camera shoot adventures to wide open fields… I cannot wait!

Old door love

Party Junk will run as usual this weekend with OLD DOORS being the theme. Come link up or just be inspired this weekend!

Cya all next week again! And may your junk finds this weekend be fabulous, you hydrangeas be safe and your cats good at heisting sharing.

  1. LOVE your two and the mantel! Your blog is wonderful… My two used to love my hydrangeas so much I had to put them on top of the amoire, my kitchen cabinet and my fridge! And then….they figured out how to get on top of said furniture….now I just kind of sigh and vacuum up all of the dried flowers on the floor. Wouldn’t miss the fun they have with it for anything! Enjoy your trip!!!

  2. seeing those adorable pics of your cats makes me … almost … like cats. LOL! they are real beauties for sure.
I love love love how you decorate. You don’t know it but you are my new best friend.

  3. I am so glad to see that I am not the only one with adventurous cats! All of my decorating is dictated by what the cats will, or won’t, get into.

  4. Awesome. So glad that you are off again and that son is going to camp. I do believe you have expanded your world and I’m so happy for you. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Love your cats. We have two Gertie and the baby Lucy or as my husband calls her Lucifer. She thinks she is one of our dogs and wants to go outside with the dogs.

  6. i just saw a funny about a cat looking intently on something far away and following it’s every move, but if you toss a cat a morsel of chicken onto the floor, you have to point to it 10 before the cat finds it. i have cats. i know! your kitties are so cute! AND thank you for providing a good show and tell on your blog. i follow you, and i love the things you showcase. keep up the junkin’!

  7. Hi Donna,

I love the minnow baskets. I have one that I use as a base for a small, man-themed Christmas tree. I put lights in it and it looks great. I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
