Make this natural leaf fall wreath… straight off the tree!
Fall is such a gorgeous time of year with all the leaves changing colour. It would be a shame not to capture it somehow, someway, even if for a short while, don’t you think?
So, why not create a wreath straight from the tree before it’s too late?
Fall is the perfect time to harvest leaves once they turn a little on the crispy side.
And while your real fall wreath may not last a long time, dried hydrangeas certainly could!
Regardless of what you use, I suggest tour your yard and add whatever you have!
Here’s how to make this natural leaf fall wreath… straight off the tree in just a few minutes…

Supplies I used:
.
wreath of choice: grapevine / styrofoam / wire form
real leaves cut from trees (HERE is faux fall foliage)
fall hydrangea blooms (HERE are some faux)
hot glue gun and glue sticks may help
string or florist’s wire may help
How-to:
.
- Start with a twiggy wreath with some body.
- Gather various branches with leaves still attached.
- Insert stems into the grapevine wreath until the wreath is full.
- Add some twine to hang the wreath up.
The finished fall wreath!
.
The result? An instant, very abundant, gorgeous natural leaf fall wreath… straight off the tree!
Isn’t it pretty?
All those natural leave tones along with some greens from vines and a rhododendron bush really made this fall wreath come alive!
Since the leaves are fresh off the tree, this type of wreath would do best if left outdoors to keep it cool. So hanging from a front door would be a great choice!
Of course if you used faux leaves like THESE HERE, you could enjoy your fall wreath forever!
So fresh, straight off the tree or faux… which would you choose for your home?

I absolutely love the colors of fall! I just posted about a bittersweet wreath that I made today by tucking the twigs into a grapevine wreath–simple and full of color!
Have a great week!

Such beautiful colors. Unfortunately, where I live the leaves haven’t really colored up yet. Maybe for Thanksgiving or Christmas. But they look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Very beautiful wreaths. I love natural items. Our leaves are turning golden autumn colors here in Alabama, too 🙂
One word. Four letters. LOVE! Those are the best kinds of projects…free and an homage to Mother Nature. xxoo
