Greetings all!
This week was a busy filming week! However I did manage to complete and share a simple project that I pulled out of my own bedroom…
Protecting a chippy paint finish on a wood bench
Reserving authentic chippy paint on a wood bench
This bench had seen better days and was starting to fail. So I pulled it into my workshop and nearly did repaint it! But after that fail, I decided to enhance and restore what was there. Now it looks and wears better than ever plus it gets to hold onto its history! So if you have a piece you’d like to restore rather than redo, my method just may work for you too!
This year I have plans to work on pieces I already have that need changes vs just getting more stuff I have no room for! Lots more to come because now I’m on a roll with 2 others currently in the works! Hope to share another next week.
And this week, I’m inviting creatives to not only link up their latest upcycles, but to also include their favorite winter projects from the past as well!
Until then, let’s visit these unique features from last week’s party, then get onto the new additions!

Upcycled gumball machine light
Gumball machine lamp by Homeward Found Decor
This little gumball machine has quite a history! However I’m so glad to welcome it back, because now it’s a productive lamp! Or should I call this version an illuminary… whatever the name is, the idea is so clever! Be sure to visit the post to see it done up in different ways, plus just a straight out lamp too!

What was once a tin can, is now a precious place to tuck in a few keepsakes to display! The risers make it extra special, don’t you think? Love the Valentine’s Day vibe this sweet keepsake can displays, and would really make the cutest way to deliver valentine treats, wouldn’t it?!

Thank you for adding my keepsake tin can decor to the list of features. I appreciate it. I hope you Have a beautiful weekend.
Thank you so much for including my gumball machine light project in your feature this week, Donna! Sometimes we just have to create something ‘just for fun’ – and this lil’ guy is lighting up my studio and my life!
I just wanna’ know where Helen from Hello, Sewing was with her MARVELOUS card-holding creation when I was stuck in an RV camping group of 40 people MUCH older than myself (which is REALLY saying something) and all they did was play card games. I don’t like card games, but the biggest (okay, most embarrassing) problem was that I couldn’t hold onto my cards for anything – I was forever dropping them. I could definitely have used her brilliant idea back then! Bravo, Helen!
I love the chippy, worn look too. I’m glad you preserved it on the bench.
Added in some extra winter upcycling ideas, as requested;) Thanks for hosting, Donna!
