Greetings all!
This past week I shared a personal post that was hard to write…
My beloved handsome cat Lake is sadly no longer with us. It took me a month to feel like even sharing the news because everytime I thought of it, I just felt this heaviness that I didn’t want to endure if I didn’t have to.
But this beauty deserved to be remembered right, so I’ve shared what happened if you’d like to read and help me honor him. I even made a little video of my fav shots of him…
I’m not sure how Skye is managing, but I think she’s yowling at night for him. They were brother and sister and they’ve never been apart. She’s getting lots of extra cuddles and playtime though which I sure hope helps.
Anyway… just spending time gardening, did a really fun video of a frypan flip for Hometalk I can’t wait to share… and did some town runs for supplies. I did have a scare of nearly losing my blueberry bushes to mommy berry though, but it turns out they just needed watering! Well, that got me wanting to learn how to set up my own drip irrigation system, so I’ll be dreaming how to make that happen for perhaps next summer. Or sooner…
So let’s move onto this week’s fabulous features from last week’s upcycled party, then onto the new linkups!

Illuminating mosaic vase made from shattered tempered glass
Mosaic vase made from shattered glass by A Crafty Mix
Let’s all be thankful that Michelle dropped a brand-new tempered glass shelf, because of course the broken glass became much more interesting as a gorgeous mosaic vase that can even illuminate! Oh my word. This mosaic vase is SO pretty, and this tutorial is a good one to learn so you too can make your own with similar supplies!
DIY lotus flower lamp
Lotus flower style veneer lamp by Purple Hues and Me
If you love the idea of a unique ambiance type of light for a special spot, this incredibly unique way to create a lovely lotus flower style veneer lamp is a must-peek! Wow! Once you know how to create this, I can imagine so many other materials one could use to make similar! This could even become a lampshade… so many options!

Donna,
I’m so sorry to hear you lost your sweet big boy Lake.
My heart aches with you.
You have a lot of love to share and his sister will be a comfort to you.
Sometimes the remaining cat will become even more affectionate.
I hope that happens for you.

Donna, I’m so grateful that you included my lotus flower lamp among your features this week! Many thanks! I was sorry to read about your beloved cat, Lake! I really enjoyed reading about Lake’s antics! I grew up with cats and loved them dearly but it seems like the cats these days are more involved, sensitive and cuddly than what I remembered! Perhaps it was the times! Anyway, I know you are cherishing Lake’s memories and enjoying his sister even more!
I am so sorry for your loss Donna! I wish you peace during this healing process.
Creatively, Beth
So sorry to hear about the loss of your fur baby. We lost both of our cats (brothers) in six weeks. The house felt so empty and we miss them still.
Thank you for featuring my little candle holders!
