Greetings all!
Our west coast summer is about to officially close. We have one more day of sunshine, then the temps will drop and we are promised days of rain. Here we goooo!
So yesterday I cleaned up the garden by removing the remainder of the tomato plants from the upcycled container garden, and picked the last of the blueberries. I also decided to close up the inflatable hot tub since we don’t have a roof over ours and sitting in the rain isn’t a blast. I guess I’m just ready to unplug from the outdoors and move inside again. The house needs a deep clean before Christmas, plus there’s lots of fun new things to make for this year’s decor! Plus, can we stop sweating soon please? LOL
But I DID create the most adorable mini pumpkin idea!
DIY fabric pumpkins made from socks
Fabric pumpkins made from socks!
Sock pumpkins aren’t new to the net by a longshot. In fact, they are very similar to Deb’s at Homeward Found Decor, who actually invented what she calls sweet sweater pumpkins!
However, these cuties are made from socks with real leaves and tendrils for a touch of nature! They are SO easy and fun to make! And of course, I made enough to litter my entire upstairs. haha! The included video is super helpful so you can see how they are shaped. So dearest Deb, thank-you for inspiring me many years ago!
Next up, let’s visit today’s fabulous upcycled project features from last week’s link party, then move onto the new additions!
Plus, the pumpkin linkup is still on the go! Creatives, please add as many from the past as you wish!

Tin can Halloween face tassels by Pillar Box Blue
If you too love the idea of creating something special out of upcycled components, grab your tin can lids to create these adorable halloween faces with tassels attached! I love the vintage-vibes I’m feeling from those old school faces!
Stacked decoupage serving trays
Nesting decoupage serving trays by Creative Moments
I’m a big fan of serving trays… and these nesting decoupage trays are not only gorgeous, they save space too! Plus, the double sides certainly punch up a centerpiece statement too!
Glam sequin pumpkin inspired by Taylor Swift
Sequin pumpkin by Homeward Found Decor
Ok Swifties, this is the last of the Taylor Swift inspired pumpkins. This week’s gorgeous pumpkin specimen is about sequins! SO pretty! But be sure to head to the blog post to check all four pumpkin designs. They are so unique and showcase how you can coordinate your own pumpkin grouping using any tones you wish!
Fall leaf wreath made with cardstock
Easy paper leaf wreath for fall by Fresh Vintage By Lisa S
How delightful is this fall leaf wreath made from card stock paper?! The mix of fall toned patterns is SO fun! Plus, this tutorial also comes with leaf templates if you’d like to make one just like it!

Oh, my sweet friend… how very very generous of you to mention my Original Sweet Sweater Pumpkins alongside your DARLING lil’ sock pumpkins! As always, I just ADORE what you’ve created! (In a weird twist of fate, I made some NEW minty green & white sweater pumpkins today for decor on an upcoming glamping trip in our Shasta trailer!)
Thank you for including my latest ‘Taylor-Inspired’ pumpkin in your feature, too – and actually, I created FOUR, so there’s still one left to go! It will be on the blog next week 😉
Enjoy your rainy weather… we’ve got high nineties in store for over a week, so I am thankful I’m headed to the cooler temps at the beach to camp!
Thanks for another great upcycle ideas link up party, Donna! And I had so much fun adding some of my pumpkin projects, too! I got carried away!!! What a great idea!
Thanks for hosting this great link party again this week. I hope you will just love my new upcycle article, featuring product from a great eco-conscious family-owned company. Have a great week!
Yes, ready to turn the A/C off! Cleaning inside today and bringing out the Fall; so ready! Fun to see all the pumpkin projects. Pumpkin spice and everything nice, indeed!
Donna,
It’s so hot here…hotter now than all of summer.
Can’t wait for cooler days.
Thank you for sharing my wreath. You are so kind! I am looking forward to making the sock pumpkins.
