PJ 314 – salvaged junk DIY projects
Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific
Heeeey guys! Hello! Happy weekend!
With all the crazy weather reports all over the place, isn’t it nice we can meet over here over a coffee or what have you, and peek at each other’s newest junk while we stay toasty warm?
I talked myself SILLY this week.
Do you sell stuff? I wrote THIS POST that showcases all the ins and outs I use for selling things online. So if you’re on the fence about showcasing your own wares, this lengthly read may just be the ticket you need to get going!
As for DAILY JUNK MAIL, THIS POST is a new way to look at tasks you dread completing… could this be all you needed to hear?
And my projects are linked along with yours below.
Here’s a few upcycled project highlights from last weekend…
Shutter shelf, by Confessions of a Serial DIYer
Could this combination of an old shutter gone from ick to aqua, and this amazing hardware be any more beautiful? I think not. Go look at the before.. you won’t recognize it!
I love shutter shelves, they offer so much interest with the louver texture.
Gun rack turned fabric organizer by Sadie Seasongoods
Dear Sarah, I would have NEVER EVER picked up a gun rack… until now. This fix is so clever!
Wintery outdoor decor, by Little Brags
I’m totally smitten with this outdoor sitting area for winter. The junky elements make it all the more original and special. And then there’s that branch with the lanterns…. I want that thing indoors! I’ll be right over with my propane fire pit!
Rustic pallet wood valentine’s heart, by Scavenger Chic
Love hearts, but pink not your thing? I adore everything about this junk styled heart! It has a true barn feel with just that tiny touch of faded red, doesn’t it? Swooning!
And… it’s perfect for year around. SOLD.
Barn door, to fill a daring hole in the wall, by Kammy’s Korner
This is a fun post to read… Kammy pulled a really daring move, busting a hole through a wall. I wish my holes in walls looked this awesome… check out that barn door!
Beautiful home tour, worth your click over!
P.S. Warning… It’ll make you want to go clean your house…
How to make a farmhouse sign on a crate end, by Adirondack Girl at Heart
This post doesn’t come with a tutorial, but I wanted to feature it, because I adore the fact that it’s so easy to make an old sign out of remnants of stuff you may have laying around. This crate end was perfect for the Fresh Eggs sign!
Now may I please borrow that MASSIVE cutting board? I have just the stencil for it… 🙂
Antiques Crate Wagon, by Grit Antiques
If you heard me hollar all the way from Oh Canada, it may have been because of this idea.
Yes, it’s my stencil, and I LOVE it here. Crazy about it in fact.
BUT… this is not a wagon. It’s a crate with wheels, guys… Over the top cool! I’m totally making this!
Scrap wood old gate styled coffee coasters / Funky Junk Interiors
I love my dear coffee, so I felt it was high time it was enjoyed with a little enhanced junk factor.
Rusty Junk Tool themed work station / Funky Junk Interiors
Collect rusty tools but never really know what to do with them? Take this quirky tool to get inspired to dust your own off! Just don’t remove the rust..

~ Party Junk blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Upcycled, DIY home projects only please. Items for sale must be in tutorial form on your blog.
2. Linkups must be your own work, not another’s.
3. Only projects new to Party Junk please. The themed linkup (if applicable) is an exception.
4. By linking up here, you’re cool with me featuring you on my blog, Pinterest, Twitter, FJI Facebook and I Love That Junk with a link back to you, or it’s own new LINK WIDGET with no additional permission required.
Every time you feature one of my projects you make my day, not just because you’ve featured me (which is wonderful), but because of your enthusiastic and encouraging words about the project. You’ve definitely influenced me in how I write about the posts I feature at my party. You are a blogger with a big heart–running a business, yes, but always ready to encourage and teach (I read your recent, very helpful post about how to start a business). I love your generosity of spirit and hope that I embody some of that in my own blogging. You are a wonderful role model.
Thanks for highlighting my shutter, Donna! I so appreciate it! Now I need to go find one of those dozen or so gun racks I passed up…
Thanks so much for the party this weekend. So much talent! Take care.
Thank you for the awesome junky party, Donna!
Hi Donna – So we are in the middle of the big blizzard – I guess in Canada you call it “Saturday” eh? (smile). I linked up my oil lamp – you need to play “I spy” in the background – I FINALLY found a place for my ladder!!! You are my inspiration my friend! Hugs, Holly
Thank you Donna for hosting this. I love all the posts but am really enamored with the wooden heart. I agree it has just the right amount of faded red. I am looking forward to learning how to operate tools and making things just like that adorable heart. And then there’s the shutter shelf and the wagon! Where to begin! With being snowed in here I can spend as much as time as I want dreaming! Yeah!
I fell asleep last night listening to the weather forecast so I forgot all about your party. Of course I had to check it out first thing and imagine my surprise to see my wooden heart featured. 🙂 I’m agreeing totally with Diana’s comments below and I personally love your long coasters. You always make us see things in new and junky ways. Love it.
After 2 hours of watching the weather, I found out that it’s snowing and stay off the roads. Time for a project.
Adore the wagon, always find the best junk on your site! So enjoy checking in for all the eye candy each week even when I’m not submitting something!
Those coasters are dreamy…and that perfectly junky work station?? Sigh…
Thanks for hosting!! I wish I had more to share…maybe next week 🙂 Laurel
Thanks Donna for hosting the party! Liz
Thank you for hosting the party! Such great ideas are found here. I could kick myself for passing up the gun rack I saw at a junk store the other day! Never again!!!
thank-you for featuring my crate wagon! I was so excited I had to call my mom back home(Vancouver Island) to share the news!
You give all of us a pretty awesome opportunity to share our projects & to feel inspired by others.
thanks again for your fun, kind words
I had a lot of fun peeking around your link party today. There is amazing talent out there. Thanks for providing a on-stop-shop- place for us to find it.
