old doors
Old doors are really making their way into the DIY decor world in a big way. The addition of authentic rustic charm is one of their highest pulls.
One of the most creative and unique uses I’ve ever seen thus far is what Missy from The Little Green Bean did with her old door. It’s now a lovely rustic daybed! I love the one of a kind added detail you see along the exposed edge.
And let’s not overlook the beauty to using an old door for… an old door! Amy from WhisperWood Cottage utilizes a barn flat track for mounting this amazing door, resulting in a gorgeous room feature! Much more than just another closet door, wouldn’t you say?
I only have one old door in my own home which is my bedroom headboard. Sorry I couldn’t get creative with something new this round. I’ve been busy working on my Gitter Done project. It’s a biggish one!
Tuesday July 7!
Will YOU be ready?!? Read more about the event rules HERE.
Here’s a sneak peek. That was mean wasn’t it? 🙂
Remember to link up your OLD DOOR projects in the 3rd themed linkup below. Can’t wait to see what you bring this weekend!
~ Upcoming themed linkups ~

curb appeal
There! Now you can plan some projects so you can join in easier! I’ll post them in the order you see here.
What other themes would you like to see on SNS? Let me know in comments!
~ SNS blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, cut and paste that url)
2. Please put a link in your post that leads back to the party so others can see what’s up! (scroll button on sidebar if you wish)
3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style (unless making the item is self explanatory).
5. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and within 1 month old. The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS.
If you can’t decide which category to enter yours in, please just pick ONE and go with it. It’s all good!
Happy summer!

Great ideas. Old doors have so many uses. I have also seen them used as paneling – so pretty.
That door/window seat is to-die-for. I love the barn door, I love it all! I’m trying to get my GD project finished, but I won’t show teaser photos like SOME people. Lisa!
I love all of those old doors. I have a door that I’ve used for my desk but it’s not old. I have several pictures of old doors that I took in Italy. I should get those framed!
I lovelovelove the door daybed!! Thanks for another SNS!
Now that daybed is just too neat…what an awesome look she has going on there! Thanks so much for hosting the party…I would love to have you come by and enter my COASTAL GIVEAWAY:)

I saw some doors propped up in a yard the other day on a blog. The top part was cut out and a flower basket was hanging in them. They looked so fabulous just standing there in the yard. She also had an iron bed flower bed, but it was the doors that were so great.
I think it was Confessions of a Curb Shopaholic, but I’m not sure. Anybody know?
I wish I had an old door. I love the door on the track. Thanks for hosting again. Have a great weekend!

The daybed is ingenious and I love “barn” doors, this one is really well done! Charming! Janell
My husbands grandmother was replacing her old screen door with a new one and man fid I want that old door. BAD! I saw it being installed in my pantry. The difficult lay in transporting it to AZ from Florida. 🙁
Well, what a fortunate thing! I jut scored big time on about 10 antique doors (over 100 year old) at a yard sale. An guess how much I paid for all of them? $20. Robery, I tell you. We’re picking them up tomorrow, so I’ll have to link it up then.
Yes Polly, that was Rose’s. She just posted up above. #16. She has a ton of doors!
First of all this post is beyond amazing. It is so much fun to see all the ways the doors are used!! Second, I have added your blog to my “new” housewife post today.
I’ve had so much fun looking through many of the links posted and these amazing door projects that I almost forgot to comment! I can’t decide which door feature I like best but I think the window seat and the sliding door really stuck in my mind…I love both those ideas! What a fun place to visit on Saturday night! Thank you so much for hosting!

Those are fantastic! Where do you get the materials for the projects? And more importantly, where do you pick up your ideas?! You should post some tips and ideas people could work on regarding reusing old materials.
