A new branch handled toolbox organizer by the phone

If you were around the blog yesterday, you would have seen all the junk love poured towards my crazy little sawhorse pipe lamps. Thank you so very much for the thumbs up! Totally unexpected!

I’ll admit, those lamps indeed dressed the kitchen up a notch. And a few elements seemed to need updating alongside them. Hence… the little red toolbox got swapped out for this branch handled toolbox organizer by the phone.

This little toolbox is fairly long and narrow, so it’s wonderful to tuck an iPhone inside without it getting lost, yet just wide enough for a clay pot full of pens.

When I landed that chunk of wood with the bark still attached, I knew it would come in handy one day. Sure makes for a neat edge!

And then there’s that tape holder branch… it really is just perfect!

You may recognize this toolbox from the stash I had planned to sell.

Obviously the sell didn’t transpire. My gut said not to go in that direction for now. So I put them to work instead. I mean, how on earth do you sell the very stock you need?! 🙂

To the right of the toolbox is the ‘stacked crate office on a wall’.

I really love the branch handled toolbox alongside the woodsy lamp touches.

Naturally, one thing always leads to another. Can you guess what I have my eye on next?

I love this deep green metal toolbox, but perhaps it’s time for a change…

Besides, any excuse to build something new is a good excuse indeed. 🙂

  1. …kind of got tool box envy over here! Love the way the tape can just hang there, for me I could always put my keys there!
Always inspiring over here maybe I should learn some organizing tips too…this will inspire me for sure!

  2. Love the tool box! I’ve made several courtesy of your inspiration! Love the idea of the clay pot as a pencil holder and I love the branch handle. I see another one on the horizon for me soon! Thanks again! Love your blog!

  3. I just love the way your mind works! I’d love to rent you for a week to do stuff for me. I live in a log house and so much of the things you do would be appropriate for my home. I love your blog!

  4. Every time I see one of these that you’ve made – I want to go right out to the shop and make one myself!
And I am still in AWE of the lamps!
Whatcha gonna do with the little red too box, huh? You know I have a thing for little red tool boxes!
    -b.

  5. Hi Donna! My name is Sara and I am new to blogging. I found your site through pinterest this summer and I check it everyday! I love your work! You really make junk beautiful! Those sawhorse lamps are my fav to date. You could totally sell those in pottery barn! You seriously need to pitch them to their buyers or design team. Thank you for sharing your ideas with the world. You are an inspiration to us all! Thanks again!

  6. I love your branch handled toolbox. I saw your post on instagram and was wondering where i enter a chance to win it?
You have the greatest blog/site for creative decorating with junk. Love it all.

  7. I love your phone station, it’s pretty darned spiffy looking, then there’s the rustic bark embossed tool box with tape holder branch. What more can a person need?
Making use of what you have is much more chic looking in my mind. Love your counter top and those lamps on either side of sink. You would not want to see our single wide kitcen much used before us counter tops.
Your “station” reminds me too much of our coffee table. I take all the “stuff” off it, organize it, dust glass top. Must be while I put cleaning rag away all that durned “stuff” is back on both top of table and shelf under by time I can walk back into room. Isn’t that how it is with your “station”?
When anybody is coming over I quick stash all the “stuff” in sewing room, close door. The sewing room can hardly be navigated thru. While it’s smaller than most peoples’walk in closet all the “stuff” on the floor doesn’t help.
Yep I clean it up but by time I cruise back down hallway all the “stuff” is back on floor. What’s a person to do? Hey I’m a crafter and I spend too much time on this consarned machine.

Have great rest of week and weekend
