Remember my quest for staying productive? Part of that was to fire up my daily walks again.
Can you put up with yet another post not related to junk?! Thank-you! It’s flipped back to summer weather here again and there’s just so many other things to do that are just as much fun! Well… close. 🙂
Listen closely to the sounds from the trees… what is that? It can’t be cidadas in BC! (can it?!)
We are fortunate to live near a river. Walking along the bank kind of feels like it’s taking you into another world. A world away from houses, cars passing and normal town kinda things. I mean… you can’t really beat looking at this.
And then I ran into my neighbour Torrey. Apparently our river down the street was pretty low… and that means only one thing. We dashed out to Taco Time and brought it to the river!
A low river in our area means LOTS of river bank to sit on. Awesome! It isn’t nearly as warm as the amazing river we enjoyed in Enderby, but this will do for only travelling all of 5 minutes from our house.
I love how the sunset reflected a shimmering gold onto the water. It was really beautiful.
Our little heatwave will no doubt be over soon. But until then, this is a pretty nice place to sit with your feet in the water at the very least.
And then it was time to come home.
Living on a road like this is very nice. But it sure is nice to have the option for walks and dinner at the river!
Thanks little iPhone, you did it again….
Do you have a nice little escape near you?

Thanks for the walk. What beautiful country.
Beautiful river photos….with an iPhone? I can’t hold mine still enough…
Who wouldn’t enjoy dinner on the river?
Hi Donna, I really enjoyed “walking” with you this morning. I just got back from my daily early morning walk. I post photos that I take along my walks on my personal face book page so my far away family can walk along with me. They seem to enjoy it. It’s so nice that you have a river close by to enjoy. xo
Loved the trip to the river. Were those others fishing? Unfortunately, there isn’t a river around here close by. And, in the summer, it’s almost too HOT to go out for dinner like that. The mosquitoes would eat one up. But fall is coming and we are waiting patiently. Thanks for sharing your lovely dinner by the river. You are one lucky lady.
ooohhh what a wonderful place!
Oh how I miss The West.
It’s fun to see the differences and the similarities from where you live to where I live. If our rivers are low, the banks are red mud (from the Georgia red clay). We have a great escape behind our house…a 22 acre lake. My husband loves to go out in the canoe but I prefer to sit on the dock with a bottle of wine!
Such beautiful country and that makes for beautiful walks. I enjoy walks out where I live, it’s a wonderful way to d-stress, get the blood pressure down and just enjoy mother nature’s beauty. Sometimes that is when I do my best creative thinking or find a beautiful piece of wood that I think I could use in my garden. All kinds of good things happen on a nice leisurely walk in the country. Thanks for sharing the beauty of where you live.
Love your junking blogs, but love your “just living” blogs too. Having the ability to see and appreciate all that is around you, large and small, is a gift that not everyone uses.
Oh I’m so glad! Because if one was just coming here for junk lately, I’d surely be fired! haha
Yes, I think my thing is, I see SO much everywhere I go and with everything I do. There’s soooo much to share. Lifestyle junker it is! 🙂
What a beautiful spot for an impromptu picnic! Something about the fresh air and the wonderful smell of the river always makes me so hungry! I really need to get back in the habit of daily walks also. I love it when I actually make it out the door, but for some reason I can’t get motivated to do it. Thank you so much for your lovely blog. I look forward to reading it each time, whether it’s about junk or not!
Thanks Kim!
There is something so special about waterfront, I totally get it. One day I’d love to have that little cabin on a river or lake front… dream big, right?!
Yes – You are so lucky! I lived in B.C. years ago – I found that you just walked out your door and the spectacular views entertained you.
I walk my dogs (3) every day here in Ontario and although it is very pretty – unfortunately proximity to the city means our beautiful farm fields are slated for development – progress…..?
Now I know where river rocks come from! We don’t have those beauties here on our FL beaches!
