24 – The little woodworking workshop that could

It was my first official full blown workshop day since this area got worked on. In other words, I made a ‘real’ mess.

It was pouring rain for most of the day.

But I didn’t care. I had this lovely overhang to work under for all the sanding. Great view, with a dust free indoors.

All these long boards for the laundry room redo needed cutting.

Didn’t worry me in the least. Look how long that amazing curb side worktable is.

And then the boards needed painting. Two tables worth. Normally I’d have to figure something out in the photo studio inside.

But I had plenty of room on the curb side found painting table. Time to filler up!

All this productivity resulted in half a single car garage sized space. HALF.

But it wasn’t the square footage that mattered. It was what was done with the space.

And I was as happy, dry and productive as ever in my workshop in the pouring rain.

These photos may not be all that pretty to you, but the too little woodworking workshop that could is the most beautiful thing in the world to this junker. 🙂

Dream Box Building Challenge #24

Are you officially set up for what you wish to do?

What’s that? You don’t have room? Me neither. I actually had wanted a barn.

Turns out ½ a single car garage was perfect.

There is always a way… if you want it bad enough.

  1. Congratulations on your workshop and what a thrill to be able to work even though it was raining, and no dust inside, and space to paint. Way to go girl!!!

Thanks for always being such an inspiration.

  2. ur workshop looks great. I see no mess at all, just inspiration to get tj to school so I can start mine. my issue is I still want to be able to house one of my cars. any ideas!! again luv the shop.

    • Yes, I have an idea, but it’ll take some effort to clean each day. You could totally have tables that collapse and everything hung on walls. So when you wish to work, you park outside. I think if you designate the area the car wouldn’t reach for storage and where the car parks for work area it could work!

  3. Congratulations!! it looks so inspirationally phenomenal (is that proper grammar?) I can now envision what my own cluttered garage has the potential to blossom into.. if I just get out there & just get started!
I have a”post-it” note of your quote on my mirror.

“There is always a way… if you want it bad enough.”

Thanks for taking all of us along on your journey, I can’t wait to see where you take us next 🙂

    • Ohhh the fact that you made a sticky note quote? You just made my day! 🙂 Now I hope you go make yours and start digging… because having a nice area to play while it’s raining is kinda like waking up to Christmas morning… each day! 🙂

  4. Congratulations on your workshop! So nice to have a place to play when it’s raining outside. I’m working on my dream – becasue “There is always a way… if you want it bad enough”.

  5. I feel your joy! An outdoor space indoors! It must feel great to be able to work while protected from the elements! Enjoy!

  6. You have a nice workshop, very inspiring article, too. Just what I need to hear, people working on projects when it’s raining, something I find hard to do. I need to improve in that area.

    One perfect love
