I’m pretty sure I’ve said more than once I don’t really go all out for fall decorating.

I don’t know why. I ADORE the season in BC, along with the crisp, cool air, comfort foods, good excuses to pick up a fav latte, (pumpkin spice, half the flavour, topped with whip cream please) and layered, cozy clothing to hide all those lattes.

My recent bike rides have also showcased how pretty it is out here.

Maybe it’s because my little town isn’t really close by where all the cool pumpkin and mum places are…

Or so I thought.

On a recent trip into town, I took a couple of side roads I don’t normally. And that’s when I spotted the GOLD. One farm sold pumpkins of every kind, and another sold fall chrysanthemums stuffed on top of a hay wagon… for cheap!

So you KNOW I took that same route on the way home, just to make those stops. By golly, I was gonna fall decorate this year! Thank you nature.


The first stop was the pumpkin farm.

Every time I see pumpkins at the grocery store, I keep walking. I guess I tell myself I should go find a farm, because I drive past so many every day.

So when you come across a farm that has absolutely everything, you know you’re in for a treat!

Of course, there’s your traditional orange.

But I didn’t bring even one of these home. Blame it on their gorgeous competition…


Who wouldn’t prefer a gorgeous, dusty teal? Especially with odd, puffed out shapes.

And how cute are those little darker guys? And then the tone in between above them.

It was like a colour card selection!

And these cute ivory and forest green striped variety. I’ll take them ALL… including that sign.

So let’s gradually ease into the warmer shades… with these super cool oblong shapes in shades of peach and orange.

Or these gorgeous puffy princess peach pumpkins! Ppppppperfection.

Oh… and here comes the dusty orange tones. Love the subdued shade.

My mom’s garden use to be full of gourds, all shapes and sizes. No two are ever alike.

Fun memory!

And this little curious pile is just all fancy pants.

I liked the measuring box. What a cool way to price!

I obviously should visit pumpkin farms more often. Are these common?

So I really did stuff the back of my truck with around $20 worth, which ended up being a fair bit in my book.

Well, compared to never getting generally ANY.

But I had to leave room for one more stop…

SCREECH.

Hello, you beautiful hay wagon you! These mums were massive, and only $5 each.
 

 
And absolutely perfect of course! It was loads of fun colour coordinating them with my front door and house brick and such. Just wait till you see the red, salmon and white!

So, I’ve already shown you a glimpse of where some pumpkins and mums were placed in THIS fall block and stacked crate post. So gorgeous! They make every picture just look better.

But… you know I’m good for more, right?

Because this post got so camera trigger happy ended up being so huge, I’ll show you next round how I decked out the front of the house, along with an au natural tour of the shed in the middle of… one big shed. It’s messy, but it sure is pretty!

As for fall decorating this year? Chalk it up to nature… the BEST kind of fall gear of all.
